Barbara Niven Talks Filming Her Final Scene With Matthew Gray Gubler

Filming on Matthew Gray Gubler’s movie “Adventures Of Raymond and Becca: Haunting In Edge City” ends this week, and in addition to behind the scenes photos that have been cropping up online, various cast members have been giving their insight into filming this quirky Horror/Comedy.

Barbara Niven, who plays the Mother of Matthew’s character in the film recently posted about her final night filming with Matthew.

Thank you for my flowers! I wrapped filming last night on “Adventures of Raymond & Becca: Haunting in Edge City” & they gave me these after my last scene. This is a quirky little comedy/horror movie that will have lots of special FX. We absolutely had a blast & I’ve never laughed so much on set. In the last scene I shot, I was at a bar having a heart-to-heart talk with my son (played by the wonderful Matthew Gray Gubler) drinking shots of Jack Daniels for courage. It was heart-breaking and funny at the same time as I got drunker & drunker, and it really did make me cry. Kat Dennings plays Matthew’s girlfriend & was the bartender in this scene. She’s brilliant & so great at playing “tough” but she’s one of the sweetest people I ever met.

Thank you Ricky Bates, Jr. for directing us so brilliantly and for letting us just “play”. By making it okay to try things & dare to be “bad”, you let us find genius in the absurdity of the situation. What a ride! Thanks also to the Producers, cast & crew for an amazing experience! Ray Wise, you made a great hubby! Sally Kirkland you are a Legend, deservedly. And thank you to Scott David for casting me in this little gem. I already miss you all.
